Eyebrow Threading vs. Waxing: Which Is Right for You?
People assume we'll say threading because it's on our sign. But we offer both threading and waxing every single day, so the honest answer is: it depends on which part of your body we're talking about. Look at our own menu and you'll notice something — the threading list is all face, and the waxing list is almost all body. That's not an accident.
What threading actually is
Threading removes hair with a twisted cotton thread that catches each hair and lifts it out from the root. No heat, no adhesive, nothing applied to your skin. A standard eyebrow threading takes about 15 minutes and costs $10 at our salon.
Why we thread eyebrows instead of waxing them
Precision
Thread catches individual hairs. Wax takes everything under the strip. For a brow shape — where the line between "defined arch" and "surprised look" is about six hairs — that control matters more than anything else.
Your skin will thank you
Eyelid and brow skin is the thinnest on your face. Wax grips skin along with hair, which is why waxed brows often come with redness that lasts hours — and why people on retinol or acne treatments are told to avoid facial waxing entirely. Threading touches only the hair. Most of our clients walk out with barely a flush.
Regrowth gets sparser, not stubblier
Because threading pulls from the root and can catch even very short hairs, the regrowth cycle stays even. You can come back the moment strays appear instead of waiting for hair to be "long enough to wax."
So when is waxing the better call?
Larger areas, no contest. Threading a leg would take all afternoon; a full leg wax takes 45 minutes. Arms, underarms, backs, Brazilians — that's wax territory, and it's exactly how we split our own menu.
What it costs
- Eyebrow threading — $10
- Brow + upper lip combo — $13, the most-booked pairing we offer
- Full face threading — $30
First time getting threaded? Expect a strange tugging sensation for the first few passes — not pain exactly, just unfamiliar. It fades fast, and most first-timers are surprised how quick the whole thing is. One of our clients recently put it simply: "Got my eyebrow threading for the first time. Amazing work."
Walk-ins work for threading since it's quick, but if you're coming at lunch or on a Saturday, booking ahead saves you the wait.
